We are really pleased with what God is doing in the lives of people. This week we were able to reach out to over twenty-five families with food and Gospel Tracts. We went further than ever before this week, outside the normal city limits where food shortages impact lives even more than in closer to the main city of Kampala.
There’s been a lot in the news this year about food crises and famine in East Africa. Uganda, home to so many of the families we help, is one of the countries that has been badly affected. They are dealing with the effects of drought and subsequent crop failures and need support at this time.
Farmers in Uganda are bracing for a fresh onslaught of desert locusts after two swarms entered the country from neighboring Kenya recently, threatening to destroy crops and intensify hunger amid the struggle to contain the coronavirus pandemic. Countries across East Africa are battling the worst locust outbreak in decades, with the UN’s Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) warning on Wednesday that the situation remained “extremely alarming” as hopper bands and an increasing number of new swarms form in parts of the region.
God has used our partners to lighten the load and help many families in this time of need. You made it happen and we give the glory back to God. Words can’t express how thankful we are here at JesusFedMe.
