Today, we met a dear lady named Madina, aged 36, from Buvuma Village in Nakasongola District. Her story touched our hearts deeply and reminded us why we thank God for JesusFedMe. Without JFM, we might never have witnessed such moments of pain, hope, compassion, and transformation. We pray that God will continue using JFM to serve His people until Jesus returns.
For the first time in our history, we went to the field today with a completely different approach. Over the years, JFM has blessed families with food, snacks, financial assistance, clothes, shoes, and many other necessities. We have sponsored children to school, helped sick people access good medical care, and stood with families during some of their most difficult moments. These are not ordinary things; they are phenomenal acts of love that demonstrate what happens when people choose to serve others.
But today, we added something new to our outreach: hair trimming for children. It may appear simple, but when you work among families living in deep poverty, you quickly discover that even small acts of dignity can make a tremendous difference.
We noticed that children could receive beautiful new clothes and shoes, yet their untrimmed and dirty hair could still affect their overall appearance. So JFM decided to do something about it.
Today, the children received not only new clothes and shoes, but also a fresh haircut. It was beautiful to watch their faces light up as they were transformed. What started as a simple haircut became a moment of joy, confidence, dignity, and healing. Some children looked at themselves and smiled as though they were seeing a completely new version of themselves.
JFM wanted every child to feel clean, loved, and valued. We worked from head to toe, helping children neglected by circumstances beyond their control. Their hair was trimmed, their bodies were cleaned, and they were dressed in fresh clothes and shoes. For us, this was more than grooming—it was restoring dignity to children who deserve to feel special just like every other child.
Then, in the midst of this beautiful outreach, we encountered something deeply unusual. We met Madina, a 36-year-old mother from Buvuma Village. We learned that she had given birth to twins on four different occasions. Hearing her story was astonishing. I had never personally encountered anything like this in my entire life, and it immediately made us realize that behind every family we visit is a story that deserves to be heard with compassion rather than judgment.
What touched us even more was the difficult situation Madina was in as she raised her children. There had been no child spacing, and she was caring for a large number of children while living with very limited resources. Some of her children were without adequate clothing. Looking at them, we could see that their needs were not theoretical—they were right before our eyes.
After trimming the children’s hair, JFM did not simply walk away. We gave them new clothes and, seeing that some of Madina’s children were still inadequately dressed, we provided her with additional clothes. The joy on their faces was priceless. In that moment, clothing was not merely fabric; it became a message saying, “You are seen. You are loved. You matter.”
This is what makes the work of JFM so powerful. We do not want to address only one part of a person’s suffering. When we see hunger, we respond with food. When we see children without clothing, we provide clothes. When we see children without shoes, we provide shoes. When we see sickness, we seek to help them access medical care. When we see children who need education, we support their schooling. And today, when we saw children whose appearance needed attention, we brought hair trimming and cleanliness into the outreach.
There was something deeply beautiful about seeing the children transformed from head to toe. Their old, untrimmed hair was replaced with fresh haircuts. Their worn appearance was replaced with clean, new clothes. Their feet received shoes, and their faces carried smiles. It reminded us that poverty may take many things from a person, but compassion can help restore dignity, confidence, and hope.
Madina’s story also reminded us that every family carries struggles that outsiders may never understand. We cannot change everything in one day, but we can do something. We can feed a family. We can clothe a child. We can trim a child’s hair. We can provide medical assistance. We can support education. We can pray with a mother. We can share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. One act of love may seem small, but when many acts of love come together, they can transform an entire community.
Thank God for JFM. What we witnessed today is a powerful reminder that ministry is not only about words; it is also about putting love into action. We went into the field to serve, and we returned having witnessed joy, dignity, and hope on the faces of children and families. May God continue to provide for JFM, strengthen every person serving in the field, bless every supporter who makes this work possible, and give us the grace to continue feeding the hungry, caring for families, serving children, and sharing the Gospel until the day Jesus Christ returns.
