Many mothers in Uganda have daily struggles to feed their kids. These mothers are among the many who find it hard to have meals daily due to poverty and poor living standards. Enticed into relationships with irresponsible men reasoning that “they can handle anything,” forgetting having children is a full-time responsibility. Then, when the situation worsened, men ran away, denying their duties of taking care of their families.
Fathers in Africa have entirely failed to be men of their words by leaving their wives struggling with kids. The situation for such families is dire, especially now with the past lockdowns from covid. Most men who live as casual workers who spare little money for families prove woefully inadequate. Many dads would love to look after their family but so often are constrained by poverty.
The frequent scarcity of food at home means most kids stay hungry. The first time JFM came into this place, kids worked in the scorching sun breaking stones in a quarry. Struck by how unhealthy they looked, we knew they were burdened with hunger.
You can be part of this ministry by donating to feed hungry families.
“It is important for people to realize that we can make progress against world hunger, that world hunger is not hopeless. The worst enemy is apathy.” –Reverend David Beckmann
