Elder Rose Mary, a non-Christian with a heart full of kindness and an open mind, left a lasting impression on those who crossed her path. Despite her religious beliefs differing from those of us who visited her, she displayed a remarkable willingness to engage with us. Her humility and receptiveness stood out, primarily when she engaged in everyday activities like digging around her home alongside her two Muslim grandsons, Dahoud and Muhammad.
Elder Rose Mary’s willingness to give attention and listen to the good news of faith in Jesus was a testament to her open-hearted nature. She didn’t let religious differences hinder her from engaging with us and appreciating our passion for our beliefs. Her openness allowed for a unique connection to be established.
Upon recognizing Elder Rose Mary’s kindness and willingness to consider salvation, JFM extended support beyond just words. We assisted her with food relief and provided gospel tracts, demonstrating that our care for her went beyond religious conversations. This act of kindness illustrated the power of compassion and outreach, regardless of one’s faith, showing that love and understanding can bridge gaps and significantly impact people’s lives. Elder Rose Mary’s story serves as a reminder that empathy and respect can lead to meaningful connections and positive change in the world.
