Namutebi aged 59 years is a resident of Buzzi village in Wakiso district. We found Namutebi knitting mats while her grandchildren were doing domestic work at home. One was peeling local cassava, another was doing laundry while others cleaning the compound. Local cassava was to be consumed without sauce thanks to JesusFedMe who came with a sauce.
Namutebi and her seven grandchildren jubilated after seeing JesusFedMe arriving at their home square with a food package which includes sacks of posho, meat, macrons, rice, beans, sugar, salt, cooking oil other items included sanitary pads, soap, Bibles among others.
The 59-year old ‘s story was touching saying many times they could go to bed hungry. “Wonders will never end”, said the grandmother. “See what the Lord has done to us”! Namutebi is a born-again Christian whose Bible has just worn out and she was extremely happy after receiving a new Bible from JFM. Together with her grandchildren gave unending thanks for the gifts with a huge smile which I never witnessed. (imagine that scene when someone says unending thanks).
“Fee distress pushed my son to attempt suicide”. Said Namutebi while sobbing. “My son was married with seven kids but responsibilities were too heavy to him leading him to commit suicide especially school dues, this explains why am staying with my grandchildren”. Said Namutebi. She continued “I don’t want to see my grandchildren (girls) fall into the trap of early marriage because of the poor standards of living we are in”.
JesusFedMe is extending a hand of help to such people to give them hope and make them believe “someone cares for them”.
We extend special thanks to our partners for making this happen lives are truly changing and giving hope to the helpless poor people.
