At just 20 years old, Martha’s life took an unexpected turn. Instead of enjoying the hopes and dreams of her youth, she found herself carrying a burden that many would struggle to bear. Martha does not live with both of her parents. After her father remarried, her mother left, and her aunt raised Martha. Though life was already difficult, she remained determined to build a better future.
After completing her Ordinary Level education, Martha enrolled at an institute to learn cake baking. She dreamed of one day becoming independent through her skills. Sadly, it was during this season of her life that she fell into a relationship that resulted in an unplanned pregnancy. The young man responsible refused to accept any responsibility, leaving Martha to face the situation alone.
When her aunt discovered the pregnancy, she gave Martha a heartbreaking ultimatum: abort the baby or leave her home. Faced with fear, rejection, and uncertainty, Martha had nowhere to turn. She stood at one of the darkest crossroads of her life.
That is when JesusFedMe (JFM) stepped in. We do not support abortion not because we excuse sin, but because we believe in the grace and mercy of God. We believe that one wrong should never be corrected with another wrong. Every life is precious, and every person deserves an opportunity for restoration.
The Bible reminds us that “where sin abounded, grace did much more abound.” When the world was ready to condemn Martha, we chose compassion. Rather than judging her for her mistake, we saw a young woman who needed hope, encouragement, and a chance to rebuild her life.
To give Martha a fresh start, JFM rented a small room where she could live safely and prepare for the arrival of her baby. It is not a luxurious home, but it is a place of peace, dignity, and hope a place where she can begin again without the pressure to destroy the life growing inside her.
We also believe Martha’s future is far from over. She has valuable cake-baking skills, and we want to help her establish a small confectionery business or kiosk where she can bake and sell cakes. Through honest work, she can provide for herself and her child while regaining her confidence and independence.
Martha’s story is a reminder that grace is stronger than shame. At JesusFedMe, we go where others often turn away. We believe that every broken life can be restored through the love of Christ. By choosing mercy instead of condemnation, we pray that Martha’s story will become a testimony of God’s redeeming grace and a brighter future for both her and her child.
