Today was a day of deep joy and fulfillment as I witnessed the transformative power of God’s love at work in the lives of two young men, Adomanti Robert, and Omonto John. They accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior, marking the beginning of their journey in faith. This encounter, however, was not without its challenges.
Robert and John are from Arua, a region known for its diverse cultures and languages, and they only speak Lugbara. This language barrier made communication difficult as I neither understood English nor Luganda, the languages I am more familiar with. The young men had left their home village searching for better opportunities, a story shared by many who seek a brighter future. They eventually found employment as security guards, but the job came with its own struggles. John and Robert revealed that their workdays were long, and pay was irregular. They endured long hours, eating late, and were often forced to eat just one meal a day, a reality that weighed heavily on them.
Despite the difficulties, God’s plan for Robert and John was at work. My heart was moved with compassion for them, and I knew I had two important tasks to accomplish: teaching them basic English and sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. For almost an hour, we embarked on a journey of learning and understanding. We bridged the gap between language and culture with patience and God’s grace.
By the end of our time together, Robert and John grasped the message of salvation. The light of hope shone in their eyes as they decided to accept Jesus into their lives. It was a decisive moment—a testament to how God reaches us no matter the obstacles.
Glory to God, for today, Robert and John are new converts in the faith. Their lives are now anchored in the promises of Christ, and I am excited to see how He will guide and strengthen them in their journey ahead. The Lord continues to remind us that His love transcends every barrier, and His desire is for all to know Him.
