About 6 months ago, I shared a story with JFM’s director about a young girl who came to me seeking medical advice and attention. She came in desperate tears after being raped by her stepfather. She went with a brother after trying to make ends meet and failed; their stepfather threatened them to abort, or he would kill and abandon them.
Both of these young youths’ parents died a few years ago, and this ill-mannered man who had been providing shelter eventually took advantage of the girl. There are many more stories, but the gist of it is that I was able to change their mind six months ago, and they agreed to raise the pregnancy rather than abort. We believe every child deserves a chance to live.
Jesusfedme provided rent and food for them; after three months, jfm provided funds for an obstetric ultrasound scan; and through it all, God has brought happiness as this innocent soul has been born today. She was expected to deliver in March through her antenatal visits, but due to early rupture of membranes, uterine contractions pushed her to early delivery.
Sadly, she was delivered by cesarean section due to cephalopelvic disproportion (CPD), which refers to a condition where the baby’s head is too large to pass through the mother’s pelvis during childbirth, often necessitating a cesarean section. They are left with an operation/surgery costs, but we are happy yet another innocent soul was saved. We believe they will come out of the hospital.
God bless anyone who would give innocent fetuses chances to live other than scrapping off their maternal uterus inside the womb.
