The death toll from malaria is more than those of HIV, AIDS, and TB combined. Most of the deaths occur in children younger than five years of age. Globally, 3.3 BILLION people are at risk of this disease. According to WHO, Malaria is the leading cause of death in Uganda. In 2019, it claimed 4000 lives and infected more than 13 million people.
Due to the socio-economic issues, many people can’t afford to buy a mosquito net of 10,000 Uganda shillings( about 3 USD) to protect themselves against bites from infected mosquitos, and of course, yes, if one can’t afford to get at least one MEAL per day, can they afford a mosquito net?
Today I am so pleased with the help rendered by JFM, we managed to save a child diagnosed with severe complicated malaria, and the father couldn’t afford to pay the medical bills. Since JFM is dedicated to saving all souls and sending the good news of Jesus Christ, this child’s medical account was covered, and she received treatment. We can’t thank you enough for always going the extra mile to touch all souls in the community. Donors, we thank you for saving this girl’s life. Without you, we couldn’t do any of this.
Children, the elderly, and pregnant women are the most vulnerable or at risk of getting this deadly disease. Still, most accept dying from home rather than going to the hospital without hope of medical bill clearance. Thank you so much for restoring lost hope among the people of Uganda. This father will at least never forget the term Jesus; he probably can’t recall JFM, but Jesus is bouncing in his head for life because he was on the end wall crying for his child’s life. In the end, God receives the glory, not us, JFM, and anyone but Jesus. May the living God bless you and use you to minister to more souls.
