JFM Exists For Days Like Today

A Day Toly Will Never Forget

There are stories that leave you speechless, and then there are stories that change your heart forever. Today, I want to tell you about a young man named Toly, a 28-year-old whose life has been marked by unimaginable suffering.

Toly has never walked. He has never sat on his own. He has never spoken a single word. It is difficult to comprehend because, in most cases, a person who cannot speak can still walk, and someone who cannot walk can still communicate. But Toly has lived his entire life without all three. Since the day he was born, he has been completely dependent on others.

His only caregiver is his 80-year-old grandmother. Age has stolen much of her strength, yet she continues to do everything she can for the grandson she dearly loves. Every day is a struggle. Every meal, every movement, every moment requires sacrifice.
Words cannot fully describe the conditions in which Toly lives. He has no proper place to rest, and because there is no one physically able to care for him consistently, bathing is almost impossible. Without exaggeration, Toly may bathe only once in an entire year—or sometimes not at all.

When the JFM arrived, we filled a basin with clean water and gently bathed him. As the dirt washed away, it was as though a heavy burden was lifted from his body. He breathed a deep sigh of relief, a moment that spoke louder than words ever could. When we first met Toly, his body carried a strong odor from going so long without a proper bath. After carefully washing him and dressing him in clean clothes, he was left smelling fresh and clean, restoring a measure of dignity that every human being deserves.

Then something beautiful happened. Toly smiled. I cannot explain how, but he smiled. That precious smile touched every one of us. It reminded us that even a person who cannot speak can still express joy when shown genuine love.

We served him food, and he eagerly ate two full plates of snacks. We also gave him two bottles of soda, which he enjoyed with great delight. For many of us, these things seem ordinary. For Toly, they were extraordinary gifts.

We dressed him in clean clothes and gave him several extra sets to keep. Before leaving, we also presented his family with a full sack of rice so they would have food for the coming weeks. It was more than a donation; it was a reminder that they had not been forgotten.

Toly has never experienced a day like this in his entire life. This is not an attempt at self-praise. It is simply the truth. Sometimes love is seen in the smallest acts—washing someone, clothing them, feeding them, and restoring their dignity.

The greatest miracle of the day was not only what happened to Toly. His elderly grandmother opened her heart to Jesus Christ and gladly gave her life to Him. As we prayed together, there was joy that no earthly gift could ever equal. Food satisfies for a moment, but salvation changes eternity.

JesusFedMe has been privileged to bless thousands of people across Uganda. We have fed the hungry, clothed the needy, and seen many lives transformed by the love of Christ. Yet today was deeply personal. Seeing Toly smile and witnessing his grandmother receive Jesus filled my heart with a joy I will never forget.

Dear donors, this is what your generosity accomplishes. Your gifts are not just bags of rice, clothes, or bottles of soda. They are hope for the forgotten, dignity for the neglected, and the love of Christ reaching those who thought the world had abandoned them. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for standing with us. Because of your kindness, Tolly experienced one of the happiest days of his life, and one more soul entered the Kingdom of God.

Tolly before

Toly is smiling genuinely. My God, our best delivery in 2026 was today.
Praise Jesus, we touched a soul; we transformed a soul.

Praying with Granny, who gave her life to Jesus today
