At JFM, we do not just hear about needs we look for them, we feel them, and we respond. Many people can identify a problem, but it takes compassion and obedience to act on it. For us, it is not enough to say people are hungry; we move toward them with food, prayer, and the love of God.
Over the years, hunger has remained one of the greatest challenges in the northern regions. These are not just statistics or distant reports they are real lives, real families, and real pain. We have met mothers who go days without eating so their children can survive, and fathers who feel helpless watching their homes struggle without provision.
There have been hard seasons when the situation became even more painful. Reports have come out of people losing their lives due to hunger. In some heartbreaking cases, individuals have reached such deep despair that they have attempted to harm themselves, feeling there was no other way out. This is the depth of suffering that poverty can bring when hope is lost.
It is in such moments that JFM steps in not as saviors, but as servants. We go where the need is greatest. We carry food in our hands and compassion in our hearts. We listen to their stories, we sit with them, and we remind them that they are not forgotten.
What makes it beautiful is not just seeing the need, but doing something about it. Many can pass by, many can speak about it, but few will act. At JFM, we believe that love must be demonstrated. When we share a meal, we are not just feeding the body we are restoring dignity and giving hope.
We have seen the impact of this simple obedience. A plate of food has brought tears to eyes that had lost the ability to cry. A prayer has lifted someone who had already given up. In these moments, people begin to see that God truly cares for them, even in their lowest place.
Our work is not always easy. The needs are many, and the resources are often limited. But we continue because we know that every life matters. Every person we reach is a reminder that acting on a need, no matter how small it seems, can change everything for someone.
At JFM, this is our mission to see, to feel, and to act. Because it is one thing to find a need, but it is a beautiful and powerful thing to respond to it. And as long as there is hunger, we will keep going, trusting God to use us as a vessel of His provision and love.
