Elders Received Blankets

The rain season has come with heavy clouds, cold winds, and long chilly nights. For many elderly people, this kind of weather is not just uncomfortable but painful. Among them were seven old women whose fragile bodies could hardly endure the cold. When they received warm blankets, it was more than just a simple gift—it was protection, comfort, and dignity wrapped together.

These women had not woken up that morning expecting anything special. Like many other days, they simply prepared themselves to face the cold with whatever little they had. Some were using thin, worn-out sheets that could not block the wind. Yet in a moment they did not anticipate, kindness found them. The blankets placed into their hands felt like a direct answer from heaven.

Their joy was visible and deeply touching. Smiles spread across their wrinkled faces, and some could not hold back their tears. They kept saying that only God could have remembered them in such a season. To them, it was not just people who had acted—it was divine love reaching them at the right time.

In this cold and rainy period, a blanket is not a luxury; it is survival. For elderly women whose bodies are weak and whose homes may not keep out the wind, warmth means health and life. That simple act ensured they would sleep better, wake stronger, and feel valued despite their circumstances.

What makes the moment even more powerful is that those who are blessed never expect it. They do not plan for it or demand it. They simply live their humble lives, and then suddenly, a miracle unfolds before them. That unexpected kindness restores hope and reminds them that they are not forgotten.

The seven old women now rest at night wrapped in warmth, but even more, their hearts are wrapped in gratitude. In a season of cold rains, they experienced warmth that went beyond fabric. It was a reminder that when no one expects anything, God can still surprise His people with love at the perfect time.

Saba Mathiew:  I was born and raised in Uganda, where my journey of learning and service began. I attended Galikwoleka Nursery School, where a strong foundation for my academic life was laid. I later participated in New Eden Christian Primary School for my primary education, a place that nurtured both my character and my love of learning.

For my secondary education, I joined Agape High School, where I completed my Ordinary Level studies. I later advanced to C.T.R, where I completed my Advanced Level education. These years shaped my discipline, resilience, and passion for communication and service.

I pursued higher education at Ndejje University, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Mass Communication. My university training equipped me with strong skills in writing, communication, storytelling, and media engagement, which I continue to apply in my professional life.

Currently, I am employed at JesusFedMe.com (JFM) as a Logistics Specialist and Article Author. In this role, I support the coordination of ministry activities while also writing impactful stories that reflect the mission, compassion, and work of JFM. Additionally, I serve as a translator for JFM, proficient in Luganda, Kiswahili, and English, helping bridge language gaps and ensure clear communication with the communities we serve.

Through my work, I remain committed to service, communication, and supporting the mission of transforming lives through love, compassion, and faith.
