Many children grow up in very difficult homes where love, care, and proper guidance are missing. Some parents, because of poverty or struggles of life, fail to give their children the attention and instruction they need. A child who grows up without love, correction, or good example easily picks up bad habits from the environment. They may become rude, careless, or even turn to stealing just to survive. This is not because they were born bad, but because no one showed them the right way.
Poor upbringing can make children grow with deep anger and bitterness. When they see others living better lives, they sometimes feel rejected and unwanted. Without someone to teach them about Jesus and the value of doing right, they may fall into sin and darkness. Many of the young thieves and street children we meet are simply victims of broken homes and neglected childhoods. What they truly need is love, understanding, and someone to tell them that their life can change through Christ.
Each time JFM gets a chance to speak to children, we emphasize the message of love. We tell them that loving one another, respecting elders, and being honest is the way Jesus wants them to live. We remind them that no matter their background, God still has a plan for them. We encourage them to forgive their parents if they have been hurt and to start a new life with Jesus as their guide.
JFM believes that changing a child’s heart through the gospel can change an entire community. When a child learns love, they grow into a responsible person who helps others instead of hurting them. That is why, whenever we distribute food or gather children to talk, we don’t just feed their stomachs—we feed their hearts with the Word of God. Through love and the message of Jesus, we hope to raise a new generation of responsible, loving, and God-fearing young people.
