A Story of Transformation: A Visit by JesusFedMe
A few weeks ago, JesusFedMe (JFM) visited a small home in Bulumbula village. When we arrived, the scene that greeted us was heartbreaking. The mother, worn out by exhaustion, struggled to manage the household independently. Her children, who should have been helping her with the daily chores, were nowhere to be seen—too busy playing, not concerned about the work that needed to be done.
In the corner, the father sat on a shaky bench, bottle in hand. He had become accustomed to drinking from morning till night, neglecting his responsibilities as a husband and father. The home was in disarray, and there was no peace or joy, only heaviness and despair. The family had lost their way without clear direction or harmony.
JFM gathered with the family that day; I spoke words of encouragement and prayed for transformation. We asked the Lord to heal this broken family, to give the children a spirit of obedience and responsibility, and to open the father’s heart to the role God had for him as a leader in his home. We prayed for peace to dwell within the walls of their house and for hope to be restored. Before we left, we shared a meal with them, offering food that, at the time, seemed like a small gesture in the face of such great need.
Months passed, and we recently had the opportunity to return to this same home. What we found was nothing short of a miracle!
As we approached, we noticed the children outside joyfully sweeping the yard and tidying up the area around their home. Inside, the air was fresh and clean, and the house was filled with an atmosphere of warmth and cooperation. The children helped their mother, washed dishes, and prepared food. Their laughter filled the air, something we hadn’t heard before.
The most surprising transformation, however, was the father. No longer was he found in the corner with a drink. He had taken up his role as the leader of the family. He greeted us with a smile and shared how, by God’s grace, he had left behind his old habits. He now worked to provide for his family; together, they had created a home filled with love and peace.
We stood in awe of what the Lord had done. JFM once again blessed the family with food, but there was an added sense of joy and gratitude this time. This family’s transformation was the result of many prayers, God’s grace, and the faithful support of donors.
We thank God for transforming this family, bringing them from chaos to peace. The smiles on their faces are a testament to what the Lord can do when His people unite in prayer and faith. We are also profoundly grateful to our donors, whose contributions make this impact possible. Without their support, we couldn’t bring both the physical nourishment and the gospel message that changes lives.
This family is a shining example of what happens when hope is restored. From a home once filled with disorder, there now stands a place of love, peace, and unity. We praise God for His transforming power, and we look forward to seeing many more lives changed through the work of JFM.
