The work of JesusFedMe (JFM) is not sustained by human strength alone, but by the Spirit of the Lord who gently guides every step. Many people in the world possess resources, wealth, and opportunities, yet sometimes these blessings are used in ways that do not bring life or hope to those who truly need it. But when the Spirit of God leads, He teaches His servants how to use what they have wisely. As the Scripture says, “Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.” — Zechariah 4:6. It is the Spirit who directs the mission so that every act of kindness reaches the heart God intended.
One of the greatest gifts the Lord has given JFM is the spirit of discernment. In a world full of many voices and many needs, it is not always easy to know where to direct help first. Yet God, in His mercy, opens our eyes to see the suffering that others might overlook. The Bible teaches, “But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God… because they are spiritually discerned.” — 1 Corinthians 2:14. Through prayer and dependence on the Lord, He helps us recognize those whom He desires to lift up.
Many people spend their resources on things that fade away—luxuries, pleasures, and temporary comforts. Yet the Lord calls His children to invest in what carries eternal value. Jesus reminded us in Matthew 6:19–20, “Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth… but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven.” When a tarp covers a family who once slept in the rain, that simple gift becomes more than material help. It becomes a testimony of God’s love reaching the forgotten.
There is deep joy in meeting the right people at the right moment. Sometimes we travel long distances and meet families whose suffering cannot be hidden. When we look into their eyes, we can see both the pain they have endured and the quiet hope that God has not forgotten them. Proverbs 3:5–6 reminds us, “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart… and he shall direct thy paths.” The Spirit leads us to the very places where miracles are waiting to happen.
When the tarps were given to those families, it was clear that these were the people God wanted to bless. Their shelters had been worn out, their nights filled with cold rain and uncertainty. Yet when help arrived, it felt like a small miracle sent from heaven. The Lord often chooses the weakest and most forgotten so that His glory may be seen. As written in James 2:5, “Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith…?”
You could see in their spirits that they needed this miracle. Sometimes words are unnecessary, because the heart speaks louder than words. Their gratitude, their tears, and their quiet prayers revealed how much that simple act meant. Jesus Himself said, “Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.” — Matthew 25:40. Serving them is truly serving the Lord.
The Spirit of God also brings joy to those who serve. Even when the journey is long and the work is difficult, there is a deep peace in knowing that we are walking in God’s will. Acts 20:35 reminds us, “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” Every tarp placed on a shelter, every meal shared with the hungry, and every prayer offered for the broken becomes part of God’s greater work.
For this reason, JFM continually gives thanks to God for His guidance. Without the Spirit of the Lord, we would not know where to go or whom to help. But with His direction, every small act becomes a seed of hope planted in the lives of the poor. We believe that the same God who sees the sparrow also sees these families, and through His Spirit He continues to bring light into their darkest places.
