God gives us talents and abilities so we can help others and bring glory to Him. The Bible is full of stories about people who were given various gifts, like skills, intelligence, or even material wealth. These gifts are a sign of God’s kindness and His love for the world.
Jesus tells a story in Matthew 25:14-30 called the Parable of the Talents. It’s about a master who gives his servants different numbers of talents to look after while he’s away. The servants who use their talents wisely and increase what they’ve been given are praised and rewarded by their master when he returns. But the servant who, out of fear, hides his talent and doesn’t use it at all ends up facing negative consequences. This teaches us the value of using what God has given us in a way that honors Him and serves others.
