In the remote northern region of Uganda, in a humble place called Kiruuli Village, seven elders experienced a life-changing moment that would echo into eternity. These were men and women advanced in age, many of whom had lived through hardship, drought, and the fading of hope. Life had been difficult, and most had never heard the gospel explained with love and clarity. But yesterday, JesusFedMe (JFM) arrived—not just with food for the body, but with compassion and truth that touched the soul. As the elders sat down, watching me unpack food parcels and greet them with warmth, something stirred in their hearts.
The kindness of the JFM was unlike anything the elders had experienced. They weren’t just given food and left behind—they were listened to, prayed for, and embraced with genuine care. JFM shared the gospel message slowly and gently, explaining how Jesus came not only for the young or strong, but for all people—especially the forgotten and overlooked. One of the elders, ATIM , wiped tears from his eyes as She heard how Jesus loved her personally and had never turned His eyes away, even in old age. The words of Psalm 71:9, “Cast me not off in the time of old age,” were read, and many nodded in quiet agreement, their hearts opened by the Holy Spirit.
Touched by both word and action, the seven elders made a bold and beautiful decision that day—they accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. No pressure was applied, only love. One after the other, they lifted their voices in prayer, confessing their sins and asking Jesus to come into their hearts. Heaven rejoiced as these seven souls, long bound by fear and tradition, were set free by the power of grace. The presence of God was strong among them, and it was clear to everyone present that this was not a moment of emotion alone—but a true encounter with the risen Savior.
Their faces shine with new peace, and their words are now filled with joy and purpose. Some have even begun to share Jesus with their families and neighbors, saying, “We were old, but now we are born again.” What began as a simple outreach by JesusFedMe became a holy encounter. Jesus had walked into Kiruuli Village, not through the clouds, but through the hands and hearts of those who came in His name. Seven elders were touched, saved, and transformed—forever.
