It is not a secret that most Ugandans are facing their worst at the moment, as many are going hungry. Today we visited four families who were desperate and hopeless. One granny made fun of us when she was asked if we should give her food. In her understanding, she thought we wanted food from her. She said ” I cannot give you food; see how dry my kitchen is” Well, each day matters; each day we deliver food counts and impacts positively on the lives of people.
“My grandkids ask me for food, and yet I can neither provide nor steal it for them. “I am too old to become a thief.” This desperate situation made her shed tears admitted Harriet, a 67 old year resident who cares for four grandkids. Each morning, it is a worrying moment as every time they get food, it is shared with neighbors who face the same difficulties.
When JFM visits, there is an improvement, and at each house, we visit, generally, up to three weeks of food adds additional security to the family.
