The most precious treasures in life come without a price tag. God, in His great mercy, made life itself free. We wake up every morning breathing air we never bought, living in bodies that were wonderfully created, and walking upon the earth we did not purchase. Salvation, the greatest gift of all, also comes freely through Jesus Christ. Love, which heals wounds and unites hearts, cannot be bought in any market. If these things required payment, only the rich would afford them, yet God in His grace ensured that every soul—whether rich or poor—has equal access.
Imagine if Jesus demanded money for His saving grace. Humanity would line up with everything they had, selling their possessions, their lands, their wealth, just to earn a chance at redemption. But how much would we pay? Would silver or gold be enough to purchase eternal life? Would the poor, who barely find food to eat, ever stand a chance to be saved? If the price of salvation was set by man’s standard, countless souls would perish without hope. But thanks be to God, Jesus paid it all on the cross so that no one has to pay again—He settled the debt with His own blood.
Today, three elders—Sabinah, 87 years old; Amorang, 84 years old; and Abedirowth, 91 years old—experienced this priceless gift. Having walked for decades in darkness, they finally saw the light of Christ. They could not have bought this salvation, for their pockets were empty, but their hearts were open. In their evening hours of life, they received the most valuable gift one can ever have: eternal life in Jesus. The joy that radiated from their hearts was not because of money spent, but because of grace received freely.
This is the same heart behind the ministry of JFM. If these elders had to pay to receive food and care, they would remain hungry and hopeless. Yet God’s love compels us to give freely, just as we received freely. The bread that fills their stomachs and the gospel that fills their souls both come without a price, because Jesus already paid. What a testimony that in their final days, these three souls have stepped from poverty into eternal riches, from darkness into everlasting light—all because the most precious things in life are free.
