JFM loves poor kids
In the remote village of Katulikire, located in Northern Uganda, life exists far from the reaches of modernity and the conveniences many take for granted. The people here live in basic conditions, untouched by the developments of the outside world. Homes are made of mud and thatch, water sources are scarce and often unsafe, and education is minimal. Survival is a daily struggle, and the weight of poverty is visible in the eyes of both the young and the old. It is a community that has, for generations, survived in isolation, yet bears deep scars of hardship and neglect.
One of the most troubling realities we encountered in Katulikire was the breakdown of the family structure. Incest is tragically common, and children as young as 12 to 14 years old are becoming parents. With no strong community guidance or moral foundation, the young are left to repeat cycles of brokenness. Fathers often abandon their children, leaving young mothers to fend for themselves in unimaginable circumstances. The pain of abandonment and confusion weighs heavily on these children, and the cycle of suffering continues without intervention.
A deep sense of hopelessness hangs over Katulikire, a feeling that perhaps nothing will ever change. The absence of consistent help or opportunity has led many to accept suffering as a regular part of life. Yet, beneath the hardship, there remains a quiet longing for something more — love, dignity, and hope. The people of Katulikire have existed, surviving year after year, but one must wonder: Where could true happiness or purpose come from in a place so overlooked and forgotten?
In this environment, JesusFedMe (JFM) has stepped in, bringing physical food for the body and, more importantly, the Bread of Life for the soul. Through simple acts of kindness — delivering food, praying with families, and sharing the gospel — hope is rekindled. We witnessed an incredible moment recently when 23 people accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. It was not an emotional decision fueled by empty promises, but a real and sober commitment to seek a different path, one marked by the love and truth found in Christ.
We pray earnestly that the seeds planted will take root and that true transformation will begin in Katulikire. Spiritual rebirth is the starting point for breaking the chains of poverty, ignorance, and hopelessness gripping this village for so long. Material poverty is severe, but spiritual poverty is far worse. Only the love of Jesus can heal the deepest wounds and set hearts free to dream of a better future.
The people of Katulikire need more than aid; they need Jesus. They need His love to restore broken families, His truth to end cycles of sin, and His hope to light a path out of the darkness. It is a long journey ahead, but with every meal shared, every prayer lifted, and every soul that turns to Christ, the kingdom of God advances even here, miles away from the world’s civilization, but not beyond the reach of His amazing grace.
