Often women in Uganda are expected to carry the care burden at home, for example, cooking food and serving it, declining to provide this service can make you a failed woman making it hard to find a concrete relationship with a man at home.
The fastest way to achieve gender equality would be to start by teaching boys, raising young men in the right way. Teaching them housework, teaching them that care work is for everyone so that they grow up knowing that women’s place is not in the kitchen. By doing this we will build a society that seeks to progress women and they will not be held back by outdated biases that say caregiving childbearing is what women are meant for.
Today the world celebrated women’s day, JFM also celebrated women in a loving mood when we visited an old granny with food and sugar with a word of hope. Her flowing favor made her neighbors also benefit from JFM.
