In the bustling villages of Uganda, there is a constant hum of life, but in the corners, you could find brokenness—people trapped by their past mistakes, misfortunes, and regrets. Many felt forgotten, discarded by society, and hopeless about the future. Yet, in the midst of this, (JFM) is building something beautiful, something powerful from the very stories others would overlook.
Mariam had a life story no one wanted to hear. She had once been a respected mother and wife, but the death of her husband threw her into poverty. She lost her home and struggled to provide for her children. Despair led her into bad company, and soon, she found herself on the streets, lost in addiction and begging. By the time JFM found her, she had given up on life. But JFM didn’t just see a beggar—they saw a mother with the potential to rise again.
Through the love and care JFM offered, Mariam was reminded of her worth in Christ. The ministry brought food to her and her children, but they also shared something more significant—the hope of the gospel. It wasn’t just about feeding the body; JFM knew that true transformation began in the heart. Mariam accepted Christ, and her journey of healing began.
JFM helped her through rehabilitation and connected her with others with broken pasts—those who had lived through addiction, homelessness, and loss. They understood each other because they had been in the same pit of despair. But together, they were building something new—a future filled with purpose and hope. Mariam soon became one of the most passionate mothers, serving Jesus on the streets she once wandered, now sharing the gospel with others.
John’s story was different but just as broken. He had once been a successful businessman, but greed and dishonesty caused his downfall. He lost everything and ended up in prison. After being released, he carried the shame of his past, unsure if anyone would ever trust him again. When he met JFM, he expected judgment but found acceptance and love instead.
JFM didn’t focus on his past mistakes but on his future potential. We saw his skills and how they could be used for God’s kingdom. With mentorship and discipleship, John began to rebuild his life, this time on a foundation of faith and integrity. He now leads a small business that employs others who are given second chances by JFM, showing them that no past is too broken for God to restore.
JesusFedMe wasn’t just a ministry that fed the hungry; it was a place where broken people were made whole. Like Mariam’s and John’s, every testimony proved that God could take shattered lives and turn them into testimonies of His grace. JFM believed in the power of redemption, and they knew that every broken past was a building block for a stronger future in Christ.
The ministry began to flourish as more people, once forgotten by society, were allowed to rewrite their stories. Some became evangelists, others became teachers, and many became the hands and feet of JFM’s work in Uganda. The ripple effect of using people’s broken pasts to build a brighter, stronger future was undeniable.
JFM remained anchored in its mission—to feed the hungry and share the gospel. We understood that no one was beyond the reach of God’s love and that even the most broken past could be used to build His kingdom. The villages of Uganda began to change, not just because of food and kindness, but because of the transformed lives of people who had once lost hope. The brokenness that once defined them became the foundation for a more robust, brighter future built on the love of Christ.
JFM was not just feeding stomachs; they were feeding souls, using the power of the gospel to turn pain into purpose, and transforming the city, one life at a time.
These stories reflect the heart of JesusFedMe’s mission, using the brokenness of people’s pasts to show how God’s grace can build a future stronger than ever imagined.
