Stewardship is the understanding that everything we have belongs to God. Our lives, our time, our gifts, and even the resources in our hands are not truly ours. The Lord simply entrusts them to us for a season to see whether we will use them faithfully. A good steward recognizes that he is managing what belongs to God and must use it wisely and faithfully.
God tests the hearts of His people through stewardship. When He places something in our hands, He is watching to see how we will handle it. Will we use it for our own comfort, or will we use it for His purpose and His people? Faithfulness in stewardship shows that we understand God’s heart and His mission on the earth.
In our ministry of JesusFedMe, we see stewardship very clearly. The Lord entrusts us with a message to preach to His people. The gospel we carry is not our own message. It is the message of hope, salvation, and life that God desires every person to hear. As stewards of this message, we do not keep it to ourselves. We take it to the poor, the hungry, and the forgotten.
When we go out to the villages and communities, we understand that we are simply messengers. God has trusted us with His Word, and it is our responsibility to deliver it faithfully. Every gospel tract we distribute and every prayer we pray with the people is part of our stewardship before the Lord.
God also entrusts us with physical resources. The food that comes into our hands through faithful partners and supporters is not ours to keep. It belongs to God and is meant for His people who are hungry. We see ourselves as servants carrying what belongs to the Lord to those He loves.
When we deliver food to the poor, widows, and struggling families, we remember that we are only stewards. The food is God’s provision, and we are simply the hands that carry it. Our joy is to see hungry people eat and to remind them that God has not forgotten them.
Stewardship also requires honesty and humility. We must never forget that what we handle belongs to God. When we distribute what He has given, we do so with gratitude and reverence, knowing that the Lord is the true provider and we are only servants in His work.
A faithful steward does not hold back what God has given. Instead, he releases it according to God’s purpose. In the same way, our ministry releases both the gospel and food to the people because we know these blessings are meant to reach them.
When we finish delivering what God has placed in our hands, our hearts remain ready to walk with Him again. Stewardship is a continual journey of obedience. God gives, we distribute, and then we wait for the next instruction from Him.
In the end, the greatest reward of stewardship is not recognition from people but the joy of knowing we have been faithful to God. When we release what He has entrusted to us, we honor Him and fulfill the purpose for which He placed those resources in our hands.
