Irene, a 34-year-old mother of three, lives in the quiet village of Kinyoro. Her life has been filled with challenges, particularly in her marriage. Desperate for answers and solutions, Irene turned to false gods, hoping they could bring her the peace and stability she so desperately sought. These practices became a part of her life, yet despite her devotion, her misery only deepened. The weight of her struggles was visible in the weariness etched on her face.
JFM introduced her to the true hope found in Jesus Christ. As we spoke with her, we shared the gospel’s message, explaining that only Jesus could offer her the peace and restoration she longed for. Irene listened intently, her heart torn between the familiar false gods she had clung to and the new hope.
During our conversation, Irene confessed that she had been obsessed with these false gods for years, yet nothing seemed to improve. Instead, she felt trapped in a cycle of despair and sorrow. As her situation hit her, tears began to roll down her face. It was a moment of profound realization and vulnerability, and those present could not help but feel a deep sense of pity. We prayed earnestly for her, asking God to open her heart to believe in Him and restore her marriage and to find true freedom and healing in Christ, breaking the chains of the false beliefs that had kept her in bondage for so long. As we prayed, a sense of peace seemed to descend upon her, and there was hope that Irene’s journey toward a new life in Christ had begun.
