Greetings beloved,
I hope this article finds you well.
This week, we conducted a four-day evangelistic mission at the Ssenyi landing site and Kibiibi Island. We began at the Ssenyi landing site and extended the mission to Kibiibi Island, a considerably larger island in Buvuma District. This district comprises 52 scattered islands in the northwestern part of Lake Victoria, where approximately 10,000 people reside.
According to statistics, between 1910 and 2010, the number of evangelists in Uganda increased from 62,000 to 400,000. However, despite this growth, many of the islands remain unreached. We recognized the need to return, and if given more opportunities, we hope to revisit these areas to reach a larger population, preach the gospel, and distribute more tracts. Recent reports indicate that AIDS is a significant health challenge, with an infection rate as high as 90% due to prostitution and carelessness. Additionally, Nile crocodiles pose a serious threat to the islands. With a lack of abundant prey in the area, these crocodiles attack humans more frequently, often with fatal consequences. In such an environment, the presence of Jesus is essential, and we were honored to bring HIS message of hope.
The Living Waters gospel tracts were especially effective in addressing the spiritual needs of the people in this challenging environment. Among our gifts were utensils, second-hand shoes, various essential items, second-hand clothes for children and adults, gospel tracts, and essential medicines. As is our mission custom, we distributed these items to those in need, and they were deeply appreciated.
I thank God for my team—their love for the gospel, obedience to leadership, dedication to service, perseverance in such a harsh environment, and patience. I am also profoundly grateful to God for His protection over our lives during these four days of mission work. I thank Him for His provision, which covered our accommodation, meals, and road transport fares.
I pray for the provision to pay for the boat we hired, which cost 150,000 UGX per day for three days. The boat carried our team, gifts, and supplies, and as we prepare to return early tomorrow morning, I trust that this need will be met.
I thank JESUS for everything. I am also grateful to JesusFedMe for the gospel tracts, which were incredibly effective in this mission.
The work is complete, and I trust the gospel will have a lasting impact. I pray that GOD’s Word continues to convict the hearts of the men and women we encountered and preached to. I believe HIS Word has the power to transform lives.
Thank you to our generous donors,
