Meet Hashinat Namugema, a 20-year-old girl from Namutumba in Eastern Uganda, within the Busoga Kingdom. Her primary languages are Lusoga and Luganda. Tragically, Hashinat lost her parents early on, and without anyone to support her, she could not afford to continue her education. She spent her childhood on the streets of Jinja, where she faced intense hardship, harassment, and abuse.
Two years ago, my wife welcomed Hashinat into our home to assist with household chores. Her dedication, hard work, and kindness quickly endeared her to us. After eight months, we decided to support her further by enrolling her in vocational training at a nearby center. We wanted her to develop skills that would offer a foundation for a brighter future. Hashinat has a beautiful spirit; she’s teachable, humble, flexible, and deeply caring. She has been invaluable in our children’s home, taking on cooking, laundry, cleaning, and general support responsibilities.
We need a sewing machine like this. Note: this was from a week ago.
TODAY: In one week JFM received funds to buy the sewing machine. We are so very thankful. The Mashariki Home director told me today that people are already bringing clothes to her to be repaired.
In time, Hashinat indeed became part of our family. Early on, we shared Jesus’ message with her, and after joining us at church, she accepted Jesus as her personal Lord and Savior. Now, she’s part of our family and shares our faith and values. We’ve watched her grow in wisdom, learning how to handle life’s challenges in a Christ-like manner.
Recently, Hashinat completed a tailoring course, and we’re eager to help her launch her career by providing her with a starter sewing machine. We believe GOD has big plans for her, and with her dedication and commitment, we’re confident she’ll succeed. We are profoundly grateful to JesusFedMe and you—our faithful donors, friends, and prayer partners in America—for making this journey possible. Thank you for your continued support, prayers, and generosity. You have made a difference in her life and countless others.
Shalom!
