Greetings beloved,
Gloria Namaganda, now 13 years old, was born and raised in Katagwe, Luweero District, on the shores of Lake Kyoga. She lost both parents early in life and came to live with us at Mashariki Children’s Home in 2021, when she was just nine years old.
Her mother, a single parent, supports her 13 children through small-scale farming and micro-retail enterprises, selling farm products like vegetables and milk. Most of Gloria’s siblings are involved in producing a local spirit as a means of livelihood.
When Gloria was young, she approached me at church, asking if she could stay with us. I couldn’t refuse her request, and she soon became a member of our church children’s choir. We provided her with a bed, essentials, and a loving community. Since then, she has excelled in her studies, showing consistent improvement and strong promise. Gloria is also responsible for overseeing the welfare of the younger children at our church. During holidays, she visits her grandmother in Kamira, where she enjoys helping with pineapple farming and goat care. Gloria aspires to become a civil engineer, but in the meantime, we have introduced her to a practical skill-building program in pastry and baking, believing that having a skill will be invaluable for her future.
We are deeply grateful to Jesus Fed Me (JFM) for their ongoing support of our programs, which makes stories like Gloria’s possible. May the LORD bless you abundantly for your generosity.
Shalom.
This is Gloria as she appeared when I met her in 2021.
