Francisco was a humble man living in a modest grass-thatched house on the outskirts of a small village called Bulumba. Life had not been easy for him, and on most days, he found himself resting with little more than the hope of seeing another day. His surroundings spoke of hardships only. The house was worn and fragile, with a broken wooden door and a roof that leaked whenever it rained. Yet, despite his circumstances, Francisco remained steadfast, holding onto the thin thread of life with quiet determination.
It was afternoon, and as Francisco sat inside his humble abode, he was startled by an unexpected knock at his door. With a mix of curiosity and caution, he opened it to find JFM standing outside. I seemed a stranger to him, yet my presence felt like a living of hope. I had come to deliver food and share the gospel. Francisco, weak from hunger and the weight of his struggles, welcomed me inside, sensing that the visit was a divine intervention.
As the JFM, we shared the message of faith and hope; Francisco listened intently, his voice barely above a whisper as he spoke. The words of the gospel resonated deeply within him, and for the first time in a long while, he felt a spark of hope reignite in his heart. In that moment, surrounded by a compassionate stranger, Francisco made the life-changing decision to accept Jesus. He was not alone in this transformation; four other villagers, drawn by the same message of salvation, also embraced the faith. Nankinga Kevin, Ssekadde Ahmed [a Muslim], Kalyango Moses, and Namirimu Mercy, respectively.
The impact of JFM’s visit extended far beyond the immediate provision of food. It was a turning point for Francisco and his fellow villagers, marking the beginning of a new chapter filled with hope and renewed strength. Their gratitude was immense, and we knew that none of this would have been possible without the generous support of donors. The donors’ contributions had not only alleviated physical hunger but had also brought spiritual fulfillment, transforming lives in profound ways. Through their kindness, Francisco and others found a path to a brighter future in this life and the one to come.
