Eron Namayanja, a woman from Ngogola village, has endured years of painful isolation and rejection because of her HIV status. When her diagnosis became public, she faced harsh stigma and judgment. Even her own family distanced themselves, leaving her to struggle alone with the burden of rejection from nearly everyone around her. Years ago, Eron contracted HIV while living in one of Nakasongola’s fishing communities. Since then, her life has been marked by loneliness, feeling shunned by those who once cared for her.
When JesusFedMe visited Eron, she braced herself for more of the same judgment, fearing that our presence would only add to her pain. Neighbors even questioned our motives, urging us to follow their example and keep our distance. But instead of turning away, we embraced Eron, offering compassion, love, and understanding in the face of others’ scorn.
As we spent time with her, Eron opened up, pouring out the pain of her daily struggle. She shared how her neighbors won’t even share a simple cup of water with her, and through tears, she expressed how overwhelming it is to carry this burden alone. She explained that she never chose this path and that, despite everything, she profoundly longs for love and acceptance.
We prayed with her and encouraged her that HIV is not a death sentence; we asked GOD to intervene and bring her peace. An HIV diagnosis can feel like the world has been turned upside down, but we know that GOD’s love is far greater.
Thank you, dear donors, for enabling us to contact Eron. Your generosity enables us to bring hope to those in desperate need.
