The future of Uganda’s Food systems
Greetings beloved
My name is Ignatius Sseremba, an apostle of Jesus Christ; spreading the teachings of our faith through my Lord Jesus Christ, overseeing church establishments, and learning to serve as a leader missionary in my country.
While we are preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ, showing love to hundreds and thousands out here, we also run an agro-processing program focusing on producing sustainable food to our beneficiaries, this program focusing on producing adequate food throughout the year, season after season.
Our focus has been on producing the following products;
1. Maize flour
2. Cassava flour
3. Corn soya porridge
We can produce products year-round, season after season, because we cultivate in the wetland. We also want to install a water pump with a long hose to irrigate our crops.
We are also planning to produce
1. Beans
2. Millet flour
3. Rice
Our agro processing program operates on a Ten(10) acre rented piece of land in different parts of the district, summing up to the 10 acres in total.
We employ various individuals to do different tasks based on time and season. Our work includes;
1. Slashing
2. Hallowing
3. Planting
4. Contour Plowing
5. Weeding
6. Spraying
7. Supervision.
8. Harvesting
9. Driving to the Store
10. Driving grains to the mill
11. Milling
12. Driving milled contents back to the store
13. Branding and Packaging
14. Quality monitoring
15. Marketing and Distribution.
This farm also focuses on teaching people the skills to produce their own food, in order to curb famine and extreme poverty, since the surplus can be sold and used to earn a living. People have learned sustainable agriculture with us,
We want to establish a demonstration program this year for study purposes, for different individuals or groups.
Currently, we produce 2 tons per week and are looking to grow.
We also partner with JFM, and they’ve been buying our flour for quite some time now.
We love partnering with JFM, and we really want to do more.
We want to purchase a mini truck to cut these transport costs later in the future as profits will increase or a good motorcycle. This will help us produce enough flour to supply the demand.
We thank God everything is going on well with our production process. We pay taxes, we hold operational licenses, we produce high-quality products that meet national standards, and we are very legal.
Thank you JFM, we always smile to seeing those beautiful faces of people on this web receiving our farm products, we are happy.
Thank you, Jesus, Thank you, Papa Bill, Thank you to our donors,
Shalom!
