single mother carrying her child
In the village of Kyabangye, 13 single mothers are silently fighting one of the most brutal battles of life—raising their children alone after the men who fathered them vanished without responsibility. These women carry the weight of the home on their shoulders, enduring the pain of rejection and the harsh demands of daily survival. The absence of fathers has left emotional and financial gaps, and every day is a struggle to find food, school fees, or even basic shelter for their children. Their stories may be hidden deep in the heart of the village, but their pain speaks loudly to God.
Single motherhood in such a rural setting is not just a challenge but a burden. These women wake up before dawn, go to the gardens, fetch water, and try to do odd jobs just to put something on the table for their children. Most of them have no steady income and no support system. The men who left them never returned, sent help, or cared to ask about their children. It is heartbreaking, and many times these mothers cry in silence, trying not to break down in front of their little ones. But even in such deep struggles, God remains near to the brokenhearted.
In such a moment, JFM JesusFedMe stepped into Kyabangye with food and the gospel of hope. The visit was more than just a physical blessing—it was a spiritual reminder that God sees, hears, and cares. Each single mother received food for her household and was embraced with a message of divine love and mercy. The Word of God was shared, prayers were lifted, and the mothers were reminded that even though men may abandon them, the Lord will never leave nor forsake them. His eyes are on the widows and single mothers, and His hands are not too short to rescue.
The atmosphere in Kyabangye changed. From tears of sorrow came tears of joy. Some of the mothers broke down as they were prayed for, saying they had never felt such love in a long time. The children smiled again, and the mothers walked home with hope and food in their hands. JFM continues to be a channel of Jesus’ compassion, showing up where people need it most to feed, love, and lead hearts back to the One who never fails.
