Why JFM Continues
The vast majority of people in Uganda live in poverty. Farming is considered an essential activity for survival, but not everyone has land to carry it out. As a result, children only eat one or two types of food daily, which is insufficient for proper nutrition, explaining why malnutrition has dramatically increased in children. And cases of death have increased among children affected by acute malnutrition. Due to limited spaces to cultivate food, many families fall into food shortages. Besides that, there is a challenge of safe water; many families in remote areas share water with animals which exposes them to diseases like cholera, diarrhea, dysentery, and typhoid.
