Making a Difference in the Lives of Others

The main purpose of our existence is not simply to live for ourselves, but to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. Life becomes more valuable when what we have can bring hope, comfort, and a smile to someone who is struggling. At JesusFedMe (JFM), we believe that every life matters and that even the smallest act of kindness can become a powerful expression of God’s love.

This week, JFM had the privilege of feeding 27 families. Behind that number are real people with real needs, families who woke up wondering where their next meal would come from. By providing food, we were able to ease some of their burdens and remind them that they are not forgotten. A simple food package can mean much more than food—it can communicate love, dignity, and hope.

Our work is not only about putting food on the table. We also desire to touch people’s hearts with the message of Jesus Christ. When we serve those in need, we have an opportunity to demonstrate the love we preach. We believe that caring for someone physically while also sharing the Gospel can bring both temporary relief and eternal hope.

Sometimes we may think that changing the world requires doing something extraordinary. But real change often begins with ordinary acts of compassion. Feeding one family, encouraging one child, praying with one person, or helping someone through a difficult season can become a life-changing moment. What may seem small to us can mean everything to someone else.

The 27 families JFM fed this week remind us that there is still much work to be done. Poverty, hunger, and hardship continue to affect many communities, but we refuse to believe that these challenges should make us indifferent. Instead, they should move us to action. We want to be people who see a need and ask, “What can I do to help?”

Our existence becomes truly meaningful when we use our time, resources, abilities, and opportunities to lift others. We may not be able to solve every problem, but we can do something. We can feed someone who is hungry. We can give clothing to someone in need. We can pray for someone who is hurting. We can share the Gospel with someone who needs the hope found in Christ.

Jesus taught us the importance of loving and serving others. “For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat” (Matthew 25:35, KJV). This is the heart behind what we do at JFM. We want our service to humanity to point people beyond the gift in their hands and toward the God who provides, loves, and cares for them.

Every week gives us another opportunity to make a difference. Whether we reach 27 families or many more, we should never underestimate the impact of compassion. A family that receives food today may gain strength for tomorrow, while a person who hears the Gospel may find hope for eternity. Our goal is therefore bigger than numbers—it is about lives touched, and people brought closer to God.

May our lives never be measured only by what we accumulated, but by the lives we touched, the people we helped, and the hope we gave. The main purpose of our existence is to make a difference in the lives of others. Through JFM, we are committed to serving humanity, feeding the hungry, sharing the Gospel, and showing people that they are loved and remembered.
