Litte Beautiful Esther

Little Esther
Little Esther

Sometimes love speaks even when words fail us. During our JFM outreach, we met a little girl named Esther, and from the very first moment, my heart was drawn to her. She was quiet, cautious, and unsure about coming close to people she did not know. We wanted to bless her, but there was one big challenge—we could not speak her language, and she could not speak ours.

The language barrier made it difficult to communicate what was in our hearts. We could not explain everything we had come to do, and Esther could not tell us everything she was thinking. But in that moment, we realized that love does not always need words. A smile, a gentle gesture, a helping hand, and genuine kindness can communicate what many words cannot.

Esther was also afraid to come close to strangers. Who were these people, and why were they calling her? She had every reason to be careful. Yet these strangers were standing there with something prepared for her—a mattress and food. She seemed to have a double mind: Should I go and receive, or should I stay where I am? Her hesitation was understandable.

We did not want to force her. We simply showed her love and gave her the freedom to decide. Slowly, she gained the courage to come closer. What began with uncertainty eventually became a beautiful moment of connection. Esther finally made it to us, and the fear that had kept her at a distance began to fade.

We were able to bless Esther with a mattress and food, giving her something practical that she needed. But beyond those gifts was a deeper message: you are seen, you are loved, and you matter. Sometimes a small act of kindness can remind a child that the world has not forgotten her.

We also blessed Esther's father with food. Seeing the joy on their faces reminded us why we continue doing this work. JFM is not simply about giving things; it is about reaching people with compassion, standing with families in difficult circumstances, and showing them the love of Christ through our actions.

Esther may not have understood our language, and we may not have understood hers, but somehow love became our common language. Her smile spoke. Our kindness spoke. The gifts spoke. And in that moment, we understood something beautiful: when genuine love is present, language can never be a complete barrier.

We thank everyone who makes these moments possible. Because of your support, children like Esther and families like hers can receive practical help and experience compassion when they need it most. We pray that every act of kindness will open hearts to the greater love of Jesus Christ. At JFM, we believe that the main purpose of our existence is to make a difference in the lives of others—one family, one child, and one act of love at a time.
