From Dreaming to Becoming an Engineer to Ashamba Boy to a Child of God

A man, likely Sserunjogi Paul, reads a gospel tract while seated against a brick wall with a walking stick beside him.

Sserunjogi Paul, 34, lives in Bbaale village in central Uganda, where daily struggles are a part of life. As a child, Paul dreamed of becoming an engineer, driven by his curiosity and a desire to build a brighter future. However, life took a different turn, and harsh realities derailed his aspirations.

Paul now works as a shamba boy, laboring on other people's plantations to earn a living. For the past eight years, he has spent long days under the blazing sun, working tirelessly to survive. Despite his efforts, his situation has remained stagnant, and the dreams he once cherished have dimmed under the weight of daily survival.

Despite his hard work, Paul often struggles to meet his basic needs and support aspirations beyond the field. The burden of unmet expectations and economic hardship pushed him to a breaking point. But it was during this season of hopelessness that Paul encountered the message of JFM. "He will care for you if you give your life to Jesus." These words resonated deeply within him, igniting a glimmer of hope.

Longing for a change, Paul opened his heart and accepted Jesus into his life. The love and message shared by JFM and supported by generous donors like you made this moment possible. To the donors who help make this ministry possible: thank you for your love and support. Your kindness is changing lives, one heart at a time.
