Avile Mateleke had no idea how her day would end. Like any other ordinary day, she probably woke up expecting nothing extraordinary to happen. She had no plans for a special visitor, no expectations of receiving a blessing, and certainly no idea that her life would be touched by an unexpected act of kindness. But God, in His wonderful ways, has a way of turning ordinary days into unforgettable testimonies.

God is still the God of wonders. He is still the God of miracles, the God who sees what human eyes overlook and remembers those whom the world often forgets. At JesusFedMe (JFM), we do not always know where our deliveries will take us. We wake up, say a prayer, commit the day into God's hands, and allow Him to lead us wherever He wants us to go. We do not have everything planned out because we believe that God's direction is greater than our own plans.

On this particular day, God led us deep into the village of Namaasa, where we encountered 76-year-old Avile Mateleke. She lives in a small grass-thatched house, far away from the comfort and conveniences many of us take for granted. At 76, life can be particularly challenging, especially when one has to face the difficulties of old age alone. Living alone as an elderly person is not easy. Every day comes with its own struggles, and even the simplest necessities can become difficult to obtain.

When we arrived, we did not come with empty hands. JFM blessed Avile with food and a mattress, two gifts that carried a message far greater than their material value. We wanted her to know that she is not forgotten, that somebody cares, and that God's love can reach even the most isolated homes in the deepest villages. Sometimes, what looks like a small gift to us can mean the world to someone who has gone without it for a long time.

The joy that filled Avile's heart was beautiful to witness. Her happiness was not simply about receiving food or having a new mattress. It was about being remembered. It was about someone taking the time to reach her, knock on her door, listen to her, and demonstrate love in a practical way. At 76, she experienced a moment that reminded her that she still matters and that her life is valuable.

Imagine waking up in the morning with no idea that before the day ends, someone will arrive at your home carrying food and something to make your nights more comfortable. That was Avile's experience. She never planned this encounter, and neither did we. But God knew exactly where she was. What a beautiful reminder that God's eyes are never closed and His hands are never too short to reach those in need!

We left Avile with immense joy in her heart, glorifying and praising the God who never forsakes His people. Her testimony reminded us why we continue this mission. We are not simply delivering food and mattresses; we are carrying love, restoring hope, sharing the Gospel, and reminding people that Jesus cares about them. Every home has a story, and every person deserves to experience the love of Christ.

At JFM, we give all the glory to God. We are only vessels in His hands, and we are grateful that He continues to lead us to people like Avile. May her joy remind us that no one is too old, too poor, too isolated, or too forgotten to receive God's love. The God who remembered Avile in Namaasa is the same God who sees millions of people whose cries are unheard. He never forsakes!
