Bembe Village, a community where 98% of the population identifies as Muslim, has a unique history. The residents, primarily Nubians, migrated from Northern Uganda during Idi Amin’s presidency in the 1970s. Deeply rooted in their Islamic faith, the village presents a significant challenge for gospel outreach. Yet, JesusFedMe (JFM) courageously visited the area, bearing the message of salvation and the love of Christ. JFM shared Christmas gifts alongside the gospel, bringing joy and warmth to many families. However, while the gifts were warmly received, most villagers initially did not accept the message of Jesus.
Despite this initial resistance, JFM remained committed to our mission, visiting families and sharing the gospel. Our persistence bore fruit when a group of over 30 ladies and children gathered to hear the message. Among them was a remarkable woman named Hajjati Siamah, who had previously visited Mecca—a significant milestone in Islamic faith. Hajjati Siamah accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior through the power of the Holy Spirit, a decision that inspired 14 others to follow her lead.
This breakthrough was a profound moment for the ministry, highlighting the transformative power of God’s Word and the importance of perseverance in outreach. Our efforts were not in vain, as seeds of faith were planted in hearts that had long been resistant. The gifts, gospel tracts, and continued visits were instrumental in breaking barriers and building relationships within the community.
JFM ensured the new believers were equipped to grow in their faith by providing gospel tracts and encouraging fellowship. These resources will help strengthen their understanding of the Word and sustain them as they navigate their new journey in Christ. The ministry recognizes the importance of discipleship and is committed to nurturing these new believers in their spiritual walk.
This incredible harvest before celebrating the birth of Jesus is a testament to God’s faithfulness and the generosity of JFM’s donors. Their support made it possible to reach Bembe Village with the gospel and share tangible expressions of Christ’s love. We are deeply grateful for the donors’ partnership in this mission, which continues to bear fruit for God’s kingdom. May this success inspire even greater efforts to reach more communities with the message of salvation.
