These men often face challenges in providing enough food and education for their numerous wives and children, indicating a lack of proper care. It’s important to note that having multiple wives is considered outdated and goes against societal norms and religious beliefs.
Polygamy has proven to be a significant contributor, if not the primary cause, of poverty within certain families. While some may perceive peace as merely the absence of violence, the upheaval caused by polygamy can be bewildering and unsettling. These circumstances should not be overlooked or normalized, nor should they be assumed to occur automatically. Unfortunately, such families often become breeding grounds for witchcraft, with children learning these malevolent practices. The discriminatory behavior of husbands and the unequal treatment of their wives have an overall negative impact, leading to various mental health issues. In particular, the first wife in a polygamous marriage consistently faces a life filled with stress and strain.
